Our Club

The "Angus Glen seniors" have been an active group in the community centers for many years participating in the drop-in programs with the City of Markham. It is only in 2014 that the seniors grouped together to form the "Angus Glen Older Adults Club (AGOAC)" which is a non-profit organization working in partnership with the City of Markham.  The club is one of the fastest growing Older Adults Club in North Markham.  Its mission is to Promote active and healthy lifestyles with older adults (55 years old and above) in the community by providing meaningful and affordable programs and activities.

The club recognizes the individual achievements of its members in their careers, and encourages them to volunteer and give back to the community.  Over 95% of the programs are run by the Club's members as volunteers.  Through volunteerism, the club is able to provide a variety of programs that promote physical and mental health for seniors. Some examples are: Badminton, Table Tennis, Tai Chi, Line Dance, Ballroom Dance, Filmmaking, Pickle Balls, Karaoke, Chinese Opera, Dessert making, etc.

AGOAC aims to meet its members' needs by continuously evaluating existing programs, introducing new programs.  AGOAC also believes in lifelong learning by continuously seeking speakers from both inside and outside the club to share their expertise with our members.

Since 2014, membership has grown to over 1300 members where majority of the members reside in Markham.  This is a testimony to the needs and success of AGOAC.
